1st place for LAGERBOX among the self-storage providers
In their study “Self Storage Providers 2021”, the German Association for Consumer Studies took a close look at six self-storage providers. In addition to LAGERBOX as the overall winner, the study included MyPlace, Shurgard, Storebox, First Elephant, and mylager.
The study consisted of four parts, which looked at the following:
- Service: are the storage units clean? Were the testers met by friendly and attentive staff?
- Did they receive competent and comprehensive customer service?
- Was booking and processing transparent and easy?
- Is the online presence well-organised and informative?
Using different methodologies, several trained testers sought advice on renting storage units with each of the providers. After receiving customer support, some testers rented storage units to get a better idea of the booking process, contracts, payment methods, and a general impression of how the renting process works.
All providers score highly for great service
Every one of the tested providers scored very good marks for accessibility, cleanliness, and signposting in the facilities.
Good handling and support
All providers had friendly and attentive employees, who took the time for in-depth support. Renting a storage unit was straight-forward with all providers. The booking process was not only transparent, but also hassle-free.
After booking a unit, storage room access was tested using all available access methods. Every provider offers numerous security measures, including an array of diverse locking systems.
The online presence of self-storage providers
All providers got good marks with well-structured online presences that offered ample information. Most providers offer a size calculator that helps potential tenants to find out the ideal storage unit size for their needs. In this category, the LAGERBOXwebsiteconvinced testers with a 100% score.
LAGERBOX is the study’s test winner
In addition to the aforementioned very good rating of our online presence, LAGERBOX also received outstanding marks in the contract processing category. As the study’s test winner, our total score was 98% and 1,1 (very good).
