Frankfurt am Main is an important financial centre and home to the European Central Bank, which is why it’s often called the City of Money. Possibly the city’s most famous son is the poet and writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose house was converted into a museum that is open to visitors. Like large parts of the rest of the city, it was severely damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The historic old town has also been fully restored. A famous Christmas Market takes place on the so-called Römerberg every year.
As Frankfurt’s full name suggests, it is closely connected to the Main river. People give it a special mention because there is another Frankfurt in Germany that lies on the Oder river. With its 753,056 inhabitants, Frankfurt is one of the centres of Hessia but not its capital. This is an honour reserved for next-door Wiesbaden.
Frankfurt is also widely known for sports: A visit to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Waldstadion, whose official name is Deutsche Bank Park, is also a must. The headquarters of the German Football Association is also based in Frankfurt as well as the management of Germany’s national football team.

* The transporter is included in the Smart and Premium packages from a monthly rental of 50 € for the move-in. In the Premium package, it is even included when you move out. In general, the use of the transporter requires availability. The use is limited to the times from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 3:30 pm. 30 km are included, each additional kilometer is charged with 0,50 €.
