LAGERBOX open in Gelsenkirchen
It’s that time again. LAGERBOX is opening a new facility.
By doing so, we are providing even more customers with a way to access and use the LAGERBOX services. A look at a map of Germany shows we have facilities all over the country. Now, Gelsenkirchen is being added to this long list of available locations.
The benefits of our new location
Our new location features all of LAGERBOX’s key benefits. Rent a storage unit with us starting at one cubic metre and a minimum rental period of one week.
On location, you have access to free-of-charge transport aids and a transport van* to help you when you first move in with your belongings. You have general access to the storage facility on every day of the year between 6am and 11pm. Access to the outdoor garages that we now offer is open around the clock, so 24 hours a day.
For our business customers, LAGERBOX also offers a package receiving service. To be safe: Access is coded, we have alarm systems and video surveillance, and your storage goods are insured. We don’t charge any admin fees. Switching either to a smaller or larger storage unit is flexible and hassle-free, as always.
The self storage location
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Gelsenkirchen? FC Schalke 04, of course. Schalke plays its home matches at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen. The new LAGERBOX facility is only a few minutes away.
Ideally placed and easily accessible, it has many excellent transport links. Set in the middle of a business park, the new storage units can be found at Ulrichstrasse 2. LAGERBOX is a great match for the local business park, which is in the immediate vicinity of the motorways A2 and A42. The federal road B226 is also close-by.
This means you can access the facility without having to cross the city and get caught up in city traffic. The new location is easy to get to from all directions both by car and also by larger vehicles.
Facts and figures
The new warehouse offers many opportunities. Not least because it covers an area of 7,400 square metres. Across two stories, it offers a usable storage space of 4,000 square metres. When everything is completed, this equals 800 storage boxes in many different sizes. Like many other LAGERBOX facilities, the one in Gelsenkirchen lets out very popular parking spaces.
The loading bay offers easy access even for larger vehicles. You can pull up right in front of the building. To help you load and unload, the building interior boasts large gates and a cargo elevator.
Additionally, the building complies with the KFW70 house standards, meaning that good insulation significantly reduces heat loss. Read more about our sustainability here

LAGERBOX currently operates 30 self-storage facilities all across the country. Additional locations are already in the final planning phase. They include Essen, Remscheid, Erfurt, and Wuppertal. LAGERBOX stands for simple and flexible self-storage. Moreover, LAGERBOX is Germany’s longest-standing self-storage provider and has been a key player in the market for over 26 years.
* The transport van for moving in is included in the Smart and Premium packages, starting at a monthly rent of 50€ euros. With the Premium package, you can even use it for moving out. Generally, the use of the van requires talking to us beforehand about availability and dates. Use is limited to Mondays to Fridays between 9 am and 5.30 pm and Saturdays between 9 am and 3.30 pm. Thirty kilometres are included, and every additional kilometre costs 0.50 euros.
