LAGERBOX expands in Berlin Lichtenberg-Marzahn
Big City Life – Berlin is Germany’s capital and the centre of many people’s lives. With so many people living there, there is a lack of space for other things. At LAGERBOX, you can put these things into storage at affordable rates. This method is called self-storage.

Back to the city on the Spree: LAGERBOX has identified the lack of space in Germany’s capital and reacted to it. We have several facilities in Berlin, so, wherever you live, there is a LAGERBOX location nearby. Our Berlin-based facilities are in the districts Hohenschönhausen, Lichtenberg-Marzahn, Neukölln, Schöneweide-Köpenick, and in Spandau.
But that's not all. Despite this long list of facilities, the demand is rising. For that reason, we are expanding our facility in Lichtenberg-Marzahn. We’re doing so across two stories. The project will kick off in December 2022 and will be completed by February 2023.
The expansion will create substantial amounts of space
The measures we planned will open up around 2220 square metres of additional storage space. This equals about 400 new storage units for LAGERBOX customers to store their belongings either temporarily or in the longer term.
Info on the location
Our LAGERBOX facility in Lichtenberg-Marzahn is located at Alt-Friedrichsfelde 62 f in 12683 Berlin. In addition to the storage area, which can be accessed around the clock, there is also an office to receive support from our staff or book a unit.

The facility is in close vicinity to Tierpark, East Berlin’s zoo, and several residential areas directly on Bundesstraße 1, a main federal road. For this reason, it is easy to reach by car, smaller as well as larger vehicles, but also by public transport.
The facility also has a drive-in area that enables customers to transport their belongings safely from the vehicle to the unit without anything getting wet no matter the weather. To date, the Lichtenberg facility boasts around 1,000 storage boxes in various sizes across six stories. After the conversion, that number will go up to 1,400.
Benefits of the location
You can’t rent a storage unit at LAGERBOX starting at one cubic metre. Of course, this also applies to our facility in Lichtenberg-Marzahn. To make sure you only pay for the space you need, you can calculate that space by using the handy size calculator on the LAGERBOX website.
If this demand changes, switching to a different box is easy, convenient, and hassle-free. It doesn’t matter whether the new box is smaller or larger than your old one. We have a minimum rental period of only one week.
However, LAGERBOX wouldn’t be LAGERBOX if we didn’t also support our customers when moving in. To transport even bulkier items into your unit, you can use a free-of-charge* transport van when moving in. For a small deposit, this makes driving your things into the storage facility easy. On site, you also have access to a free-of-charge transport aids, including pallet trucks, sack trucks, and trolleys.
Another popular and frequently used LAGERBOX service is that we receive your incoming goods. This service for our business customers makes sure they can use LAGERBOX as interim storage.
Security is also a very important aspect of the LAGERBOX service because we want to protect our customer’s belongings and make sure you have complete peace of mind. The facilities are accessible only with a code.
Nobody is able to enter the premises or the LAGERBOX buildings without it. In addition, every box has its own padlock with a personalised access code. The entire facility is under video surveillance and all the boxes as well as the building are equipped with alarms.
This makes stealing virtually impossible at LAGERBOX. However, all your belongings stored at LAGERBOX are insured just to make sure. We don’t charge administration fees.
LAGERBOX also offers a few extra services. For a small extra charge, you can, for example, have the LAGERBOX staff set up shelves in your storage unit. When booking your unit, simply check the respective box.
If you are in the middle of moving house, visit our LAGERBOX moving supplies shop and buy moving boxes in many different sizes or tape. The shop is part of our office area and has the same opening hours.
Reasons for self-storage
There are many possible reasons for storing things at LAGERBOX. One of them we have already mentioned: moving house. If you are moving, LAGERBOX is convenient for temporarily storing your belongings.
Other reasons why customers store their things at LAGERBOX include separation, going abroad, damp cellars, or, quite simply, a lack of storage space. Items can include files, furniture, books, or old but valuable bottles of wine. At LAGERBOX, you can store whatever you want as long as it’s not perishable or highly flammable.

* The transporter is included in the Smart and Premium packages from a monthly rental of € 50 for the move-in. With the Premium package even when moving out. In general, the use of the transporter requires availability and an appointment with us. The use is limited to the times from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 3:30 pm. 30 km are included, each additional kilometer is charged with 0,50 €.
